Kooks Headers & Exhaust publishes a limited lifetime warranty on material and workmanship to the original purchaser, for the original vehicle the product was installed on. Products used in competition applications, and products made from mild steel, carry a 1-year limited warranty on the same terms, and discontinued or obsolete parts are not covered although Kooks will quote a repair on them. Kooks mufflers carry a 5-year limited replacement warranty, handled under an RMA number; a muffler that failed from impact damage is declined, and if Kooks finds neither impact damage nor a manufacturing defect it may offer a replacement at a discounted rate. Qualifying EPA-compliant catalytic converters carry 5 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first, on construction and materials (housing, welds, inlet and outlet connections, and the internal substrate staying intact and secured) and 2 years or 25,000 miles on emissions performance, in federally certified non-CARB applications only. Kooks high-flow performance race catalytic converters are for naturally aspirated vehicles only — supercharged or turbocharged vehicles must run Kooks GREEN catalytic converters to qualify for converter warranty coverage, and Kooks recommends GREEN cats on any vehicle over 550 RWHP. Kooks Warranty Registration must be completed when the product is received; Kooks states that failing to file it voids the warranty terms within 30 days of receipt, and any damaged or missing parts must also be reported within 30 days of receipt. On a verified defect Kooks will repair or replace the product, and its liability is limited to the amount paid for the product: towing, installation or removal costs, shop fees, loss, inconvenience and personal injury are excluded. Coverage does not extend to collision, misuse, off-road use, improper installation or removal, or modification such as cutting, welding or wrapping, to rust-through or corrosion from chemicals or salt, or to material fatigue from heat, excessive vibration, rich or lean operating conditions, 2-step launch control or other aftermarket modifications not offered by the OEM. Ceramic coating does not void the warranty, but the coating itself is not covered. Kooks does not guarantee a specific sound or a specific power gain, does not guarantee fitment when its parts are combined with another manufacturer's parts unless it says so, and strongly recommends a dyno tune after any long-tube header installation. Kooks also states that products bought from vendors it has not authorised are not eligible for return or warranty claims. Claims go to Kooks directly with proof of purchase or the original order number, and the official Kooks Warranty Form must be completed for free warranty repair or replacement. Kooks covers ground shipping both ways on an approved claim within 30 days of your receipt of the product; after 30 days you ship the part to Kooks and Kooks pays the return leg if the defect is covered.
