Manufacturer's Warranty — SLP
SLP Performance Parts warrants its products to be free from defects in material and workmanship, with the term set by product family. For what we carry from SLP: headers and exhaust products are covered by a Limited Lifetime warranty, cold-air intake systems are covered by a Limited Lifetime warranty excluding the filters, accessories such as car covers, emblems, shifter knobs and lug or center caps are covered for 90 days, and electrical products are covered for 30 days. The Limited Lifetime term is specific: headers and exhaust components are warranted against rust, corrosion, failed welds, cracks and similar defects under normal use, and discoloration of coatings is not covered; damage caused by excessive heat from lean combustion or the use of heat wraps, and damage from flood, collision, modification or road hazard, is not covered. On cold-air inductions and air boxes the same rust, corrosion, weld and crack coverage applies for life, the appearance of coatings and finishes is warranted for 3 years, and filters are not covered. Coverage runs from the original purchase date shown on the sales invoice, and a copy of the original dated sales receipt must accompany any part returned on a warranty claim. During the warranty period SLP will repair or replace the product at its discretion, and its responsibility is strictly limited to that repair or replacement. Before returning anything you must obtain an RGA (return authorization) number from the SLP Performance Parts Customer Service Department at 855-757-7373; products are then returned shipping prepaid to SLP in Plymouth Township, Michigan, and C.O.D. shipments are refused. Not covered: improper installation; labor to remove or replace the part; fluids, gaskets, incidental parts and shipping costs; incidental and consequential damages including diagnostic charges, property damage, personal injury, transportation, storage and rental-car charges and vehicle downtime; normal wear and tear; repairs performed by unauthorized persons; parts altered, modified or used in applications not listed in the SLP application guide; compatibility with other manufacturers’ aftermarket parts or with otherwise modified vehicles; and products used for racing. SLP products are designed for stock, unmodified vehicles as supplied by the original manufacturer, and it is up to the purchaser to determine whether a part suits a modified application. A part shipped in error is replaced with the correct part at no charge by the same shipping method, with a call tag issued for the incorrect part. Separately from the warranty, SLP’s return policy takes unused parts in the original packaging within 30 days of the invoice date, with credit issued at SLP’s discretion minus a 15% restocking fee; missing parts are charged and deducted from the credit, modified or damaged parts are not accepted for credit, returns are not accepted after 60 days from the invoice date, and there are no returns on electrical parts, clearance items or installed parts. A 20% restocking fee may be assessed on non-deliverable shipments.
Warranty terms are set by the manufacturer and may change. Full details and claims are handled directly by SLP. Contact us if you need help with a warranty claim.
